Mea culpa, mea culpa. I am a bad blogger. In my defense, I claim good reason. The Bread Winner was a victim of economic downsizing which meant that I have been working every shift I could get my mitts on. Which, as it happens, was a lot. It’s mighty hard to blog from the depths of a swimming pool. In addition to working 6 days a week, I’ve been spending the seventh and one evening a week ensconced in the hallowed halls of learning.
On the upside, the Bread Winner is back in the land of the meaningfully employed tomorrow and whilst Lil MIss will be devastated, I am hoping that I will, once more, have time to blog regularly.
All this busy busy has made the meals around Chez KP a little lack lustre and tonight was no different. Corned beef with vegetables boiled in the pot with the meat. Mundane but I love it. Sadly it’s no favourite of the Bread Winner but he is a stoic old chap and bears these things from time to time for the woman he loves.
The reason I have decided it to be blog worthy is because I made a green peppercorn sauce in the thermomix. It’s my sauce of choice for silverside and the thermomix makes it a breeze.
Thermomix green peppercorn white sauce
50g plain flour
1 tablespoon green peppercorns, drained
- Place butter, flour, milk and salt in therommix and cook for 7 minutes at 90 degrees on speed 4
- Add peppercorns and mix for 5 seconds on reverse speed 1.
