Today was 30 degrees. That’s 86 if you speak Farenheit. It’s going to be a long hot summer.
Which prompted me to make a summery meal. Well that and the fact that I had nothing planned, some scraps that needed using, lunches to make, no bread and not a lot of time on my hands.  Want […]

I don’t know if I am just uber passionate about my food loves or that I can’t grow enough of anything to give a glut large enough to actually make me sick of certain foods. Or maybe a little of both.
I let the last batch of asparagus run wild rather than eat it with great […]

Dinner tonight was eerily like dinner last night. But not. Last night was steamed vegetables on noodles with haloumi. Tonight was steamed vegetables on noodles with tahini dressing. Despite the ingredients being much the same, the flavour was vastly different. I love the versatility of the simplest vegetarian meals. In fact, had I any tamari, […]

I rather fancied quesadillas. Much as I love my usual masa harina tortilla recipe, I felt like something more malleable. I still wanted to retain the corn […]

Now that’s out of the way, let’s move on to food shall we? You may not be surprised to hear that […]

It may not be as warm as I would like just yet but salads can still be just right. They just need a bit of warmth to them. I served this with freshly baked pain de campagne. A perfect combination.

Pizza saves lives

Its true. Pizza actually saves lives. It’s saved multiple lives at Chez KP today.
First and foremost, it’s saved my life. With the gardening fenzy I embarked on and the destruction frenzy Lil Miss embarked on today, any more dinner preparation than pulling some dough out of the freezer and throwing toppings at it when it […]

Its been a while coming but here are the recipes from our recent dinner party.
chorizo in potatoes
I read about these in a Gourmet Traveller whilst sitting in a cafe in Sydney recently. I didn’t copy the recipe but it’s pretty simple so I probably did the same thing as the original recipe specified.

2 chorizo
1 large […]
