Its been a while coming but here are the recipes from our recent dinner party.
chorizo in potatoes
I read about these in a Gourmet Traveller whilst sitting in a cafe in Sydney recently. I didn’t copy the recipe but it’s pretty simple so I probably did the same thing as the original recipe specified.

Every night this week I’ve had all the good posting intentions in the world. Life keeps getting in the way though in one form or another. Today has been no different. I will however assuage my non-posting guilt with a series of random images of things we have been eating this week.

Son and Heir has […]

I tend to blitz through most days at a fairly hectic pace. Being forced to slow down by two unwell Ankle Biters and a badly cut finger is pure torture. It’s taken me all day to perform tasks that would normally take half that time.
Just the normal day to day tasks of a mum. Post-vomit […]

Beyond Porridge

Porridge is our weekday staple, particularly in the cooler months. We never eat porridge on the weekends though. Never. I think there may even be an unwritten rule against it. Or maybe even written. Maybe I just wrote it.
Weekend breakfasts hover between eggs, toast, pancakes, benedict if I’m feeling fancy. I felt like breaking away […]

Son and Heir loves to cook with me. Best of all, he’s actually old and coordinated enough to be useful these days. He even has his own ‘kiddie kutter’, an Ankle Biter safe knife that he uses with great pride (check the ad on on the side if you’re interested). Lil Miss and the Bread […]

Just to force some more disliked orange veg down the family’s collective throat. I’m on a winner with this one though, they all love it. The Bread Winner looked quite surprised when I told him what he was eating. Of course I didn’t tell him until after he told me that he was really enjoying […]

Admittedly it wasn’t such a hit with the Ankle Biters this time but my friend Cath and I were mightily impressed. I roasted the pumpkin the day before when I was cooking dinner which made them really quick and easy to whip up too. Budget too, perfect!

Reinventing mojo

Last night’s cooking class has inspired me to force that old mojo back whether it likes it or not. I went back to work today which kind of interfered with that resolution as it really took the stuffing out of me. I decided though not to let it beat me, just to start of with […]
