Bokashi meets thermomix
Aug 13th, 2008 by Dani
Sometimes I’m a little slow. I know that the smaller you make things before composting them, the quicker they decompose. So why did it only occur to me today to throw the compost stuff in the thermomix before throwing it in the bokashi bin?

Good thinking. There was a Daily Tipp on the german website a little while ago suggesting to blitz the egg shells before putting in compost - helps clean the bowl of dough after breadmaking. I have chopped up things like cauli/broccoli stems to do the same.
NOW - with my newly purchased - thanks again for the tip - Bokashi, I will be blitzing my rubbish for compost.

I saw that (the eggshell thing) at a demo when I first saw the TM in action. I’ve never found it particularly effective (or necessary) on it’s own. I found it took too much water for my frugal soul to rinse the shell out. I’m loving it for compost though. I hope you enjoy your bokashi as much as I’m enjoying mine
