If I was asked (or even if I wasn’t) to name my favourite cook book author, I’m fairly sure the answer is Charmaine Solomon. Which provided for a happy moment within a rotten task.
Lil Miss has finally grown long enough legs to enable her to climb on to the ladderless top bunk. Which means that […]

Today was 30 degrees. That’s 86 if you speak Farenheit. It’s going to be a long hot summer.
Which prompted me to make a summery meal. Well that and the fact that I had nothing planned, some scraps that needed using, lunches to make, no bread and not a lot of time on my hands. Want […]

I don’t know if I am just uber passionate about my food loves or that I can’t grow enough of anything to give a glut large enough to actually make me sick of certain foods. Or maybe a little of both.
I let the last batch of asparagus run wild rather than eat it with great […]

We like to mix things up a little round here. So I took a salad, added some grated cheese, sour cream and freshly made corn tortillas. Yum. Although perhaps serving beans for both lunch and dinner was overkill. Maybe we should stay out of the public arena for awhile.

Today was another wonderful, warm Melbourne spring day. Complete with somewhat annoying trademark Melbourne gale force winds. The Ankle Biters and I were out the door by 7.45am and on our way to the farmers market at Collingwood Children’s Farm. As were half the inhabitants on Melbourne (or so it seemed).

Pasta makes my family happy. Very happy. So last night we had spag bog. While the sauce was simmering, I whipped up a batch of pumpkin gnocchi with some dying pumpkin for tonight. I was a but heavy handed with the flour and the gnocchi was crap not up to its usual standard. The sauce, […]

Its true. Pizza actually saves lives. It’s saved multiple lives at Chez KP today.
First and foremost, it’s saved my life. With the gardening fenzy I embarked on and the destruction frenzy Lil Miss embarked on today, any more dinner preparation than pulling some dough out of the freezer and throwing toppings at it when it […]
