Here is a random nasturtiun from my back yard. Not relevant to anything else I have to say today. Just pretty.

Now that I’ve got that out of my system, I’ll move on to my next random topic. The Junior Landcare Watermelon Challenge. It’s open to Australian children as individuals or as schools. The idea is […]

Today was 30 degrees. That’s 86 if you speak Farenheit. It’s going to be a long hot summer.
Which prompted me to make a summery meal. Well that and the fact that I had nothing planned, some scraps that needed using, lunches to make, no bread and not a lot of time on my hands.  Want […]

I don’t know if I am just uber passionate about my food loves or that I can’t grow enough of anything to give a glut large enough to actually make me sick of certain foods. Or maybe a little of both.

One of the many things I love about Son and Heir’s kinder is the little vegie patch. Over the school holidays, the silverbeet grew to maturity. So this afternoon, Lil Miss and I joined the kinder kids to harvest and cook some of it.

A Sweet Breakfast Treat

In my noodlings ’round the net yesterday, I found a picture. I think it was on flickr. It was a breakfast from The Commoner, which I believe is a Melbourne cafe. It tickled my fancy so I thought I’d replicate it for breakfast this morning.
Panfried Gingerbread with Caramelised Banana and Honeyed Yoghurt.

I made the gingerbread […]

Today in Melbourne it was 28 degrees. That’s my perfect. Warm enough for scanty clothing, cool anough to run. It’s the best of all possible worlds. Pure bliss. Between running and gardening and cooking, I lived life to the full today. I’m too weary too talk about it so here’s a pictorial representation of all […]

We like to mix things up a little round here. So I took a salad, added some grated cheese, sour cream and freshly made corn tortillas. Yum. Although perhaps serving beans for both lunch and dinner was overkill. Maybe we should stay out of the public arena for awhile.
