If I want to thicken my sauce, I remove everything on to a serving dish and whisk in a little cornflour at the end. That generally does the trick.
FB has one of the those thermoses that are half the height of a standard thermos with a wide mouth. It's not a kiddy one. He plonks it on the ground and hunkers over it with fork or spoon like some sort of neanderthal. He loves his food that boy of mine. He dropped it the other day and the plastic bottom cracked but it's still fine. I think if you drop one of the cheap ones it's going to be a write off.

I love my slow cooker too! Except that I find my sauces a bit watery...any tips? A little cornflour perhaps?

Also, does your firstborn have a child-size thermos or a normal one? I've been trying to find one for my girl that she can get her little hands around. I've seen some dodgy looking kiddy thermos's (sp? I don't know what the plural is) in a $2 shop, but didn't like the odds enough to buy one.

Docwitchs last blog post..<a href="http://darksideofthebroom.blogspot.com/2009/05/of-education-and-confused-parental.html" rel="nofollow">Of Education and Confused Parental Intuition.</a>
