I grew mine in a half wine barrel and then made a frame of wire on top of that and filled it with sugar cane mulch as the plants grew up. So I effectively doubled the height of the wine barrel. Definitely give it a try, it's lots of fun and The Moon would love digging for taties. My Ankle Biters do. Never fear. I'll be stupefied and wrapped in blanket come winter, moaning and groaning with the best of them. I am proud of them Docwitch.
