If you use olive oil, its smoke point is only 190°C and so better to try Safflower or Sunflower oil in the machine & heat it up as much as you can then check what temperature you reach with a candy/deep frier thermometer. I don't think the thermomix would get much above 150°C as it is not designed for frying as far as I can see and has safety mechanisms built in to prevent overheating? according to the tecnical data available online.
