		<description>i don&#039;t like the thermomix for anything that requires a nice hot quick heat, such as frying bacon or onion etc, so i can&#039;t see that it would work for popcorn.</description>

It is not likely that you will be able to cook popcorn in a thermomix as you need temperatures of about 180 to 190°C to cause the corn to pop.
If you use olive oil, its smoke point is only 190°C and so better to try Safflower or Sunflower oil in the machine &amp; heat it up as much as you can then check what temperature you reach with a candy/deep frier thermometer.
I don&#039;t think the thermomix would get much above 150°C as it is not designed for frying as far as I can see and has safety mechanisms built in to prevent overheating? according to the tecnical data available online.
Back to the old faithful frypan.</description>
