Spook. Probably not for reading in a Catholic hospital.

Many thanks to Danny at Dad Gone Mad for putting me onto Mary Roach. After reading about her, I borrowed Spook from my local library. I started it in the (Catholic) hospital waiting room yesterday. OK, so it’s not subject matter that implies unquestioning religious faith but hot damn it’s good. So I second Danny’s recommendation. Go find yourself some Mary Roach. You won’t regret it. Unless you’re some form of fundamentalist believer in which case you will probably be offended. But even the offensive can be entertaining, right? Seriously, to paraphrase Danny who is a finer writer than I, she’s fascinating, hilarious and educational. I only look forward to finishing Spook as an opportunity to read more of her work.
Bossy loves a good recommendation. And a great recommendation is even better.
