THINGS TO DO IN MY TOWN FOR (ALMOST) FREE MEME
Here are the rules (because it wouldn’t be a meme without rules):
1. List (at least) five things to do for free in your city or town, not just well publicised touristy things, but things YOU might do too!
2. Write it with a visitor in mind.
3. Tag three people* - extra fun if they live somewhere you’d like to know better or you’re going to sometime soon.
4. If you’re anonymous/coy about where you live, choose another town or city that you know.
MELBOURNE (and surrounds)
1. Almost free - the Museum is $6 for adults and free for children under 14. Brilliant value.
2. The Art Gallery. Admission to the NGV Collection is free.
3. Awesome suburban playgrounds (most of which have free playgrounds) include;
Ruffey Lake Park, The Boulevarde, Doncaster East,
Eltham North Adventure Playground, Wattletree Road, Eltham North
Johnson’s Reserve, Bastings Street, Northcote
Hays Paddock, Kew
St Kilda Adventure Playground, off Neptune St, St Kilda
Alma Park East Adventure Playground, Alma Road, East St Kilda
and many more of course, these are just some favourites for our family.
4. St Andrew’s Market. Saturday morning, St Andrews. Can’t miss it, opposite the pub. No exenditure necessary. Lot’s to look, lovely hill to sit on and watch the world go by.
5. Bike riding fun. Lot’s of rail trails which are fabulous for long leisurely (and easy) bike rides.
6. For a great day trip, head down the Great Ocean Road and take a wander through the Otways. There is a world of natural beauty to check out down here.
That’s more than five and the Ankle Biters are cranky. Please consider yourself tagged, I’m allergic to individual tagging : )
