Completed shopping, a broken budget and a meal plan
Apr 28th, 2008 by Dani
This week is a meal planning week and next week will be too. I need to make sure that I cover some of this week’s blow out next week or things may get ugly. Should be easy enough to do. Next week should only require replacing things that run out and a fruit and veg top up. Which is lucky as my estimate of $50 at the supermarket blew out to $77.65. Which means that total expenditure for this week is $279.59. Ouch. $129.59 over budget. Watch how quickly it gets made up though, the beauty of bulk purchasing.

3 x 425g tuna chunks 5.67
1kg tasty cheese $6.29
TOTAL $25.52
Leos
1 litre ammonia $1.41
500g laundry soap $1.38
500g borax $3.34
1kg washing soda $3.70
toothbrush $3.50
500g frymasta blended vegetable oil (for soapmaking) $2.31
500g small pasta shells 79c

500g copha (also for soapmaking) $4.00
organic beef sausages (on special) $4.99
5 free range chicken breasts (on special and sold out at both the market AND Aldi…go figure) $16.98

Now for the meal plan;
Chimichangas (that was last night)
Schnitzel, mash and salad

Winter Stir Fry
Stuffed tofu
Spanish rice casserole
Crockpot Tamale Pie

And that, my friends is the plan. Always have a plan…of some description.
