Kitchen disasters…

Some days in the kitchen I am truly inspired. Others, well…not so.
I managed to have two total disasters in the kitchen today. Firstly, whilst taking a load of washing off the line, hanging another out, tripping over the trail of toys that weren’t meant to be on the kitchen floor anyway, hollering at the kids, making lunches for tomorrow and washing the dishes, I managed to overcook the green vegetable curry I was making for tonight’s dinner. Wouldn’t happen if I had my Thermomix. Anyway, that was an easy save. Whack in the stick blender and dinner became soup. Problem solved.
Disaster two was not so easily solved. Actually it wasn’t solved at all. I had soaked some cashews and put them in the oven to dehydrate. Only problem was that I forgot that Nourishing Traditions is an American cookbook. Whoops. Two hundred degrees celcius is far too hot to dehydrate. I burnt those poor little buggers to smithereens. Totally beyond repair. Gosh I hate food wastage.
I was going to bake a stout chocolate cake but given today’s mishaps, I might just leave it until tomorrow.

yay for this blog…i feel like I’m right in your kitchen!
I wish you were right in my kitchen! Preferably without huntsman friends though…
